I was cat sitting for a friend of mine, when he came home a few of his friends and I were drinking coffee on the couch when he noticed the handle on his screen door was messed up. He jokingly asked who had broken it then started fiddling with it. We informed him it’d been broken to which he replied,”Nah, it’s not broken. There’s a few screws loose and it just came undone.”

I thought it was a lot like me, like all of us. We’re not broken, we just come undone sometimes.

 Do you ever wonder what things would be like if you‘d made a different choice? If you had stayed in a previous relationship?

he’s so agitated tonight, he didn’t like hearing that either. I think he’s trying to figure out what to do with his vacation time if things don’t go the way we originally planned. 

it has less to do with money then it does with the fact there won’t be any family time. The fact that our parents are getting older. Making a couple grand more will not replace the time she will lose with her grandparents…with us… with family. Money means nothing. You can’t replace the people in your life. you can’t get back the time you push aside to make more money. You’ll never get it back.
